Hays Bridge Historic District
Covered bridge · Franklin County, Pennsylvania

Hays Bridge Historic District is a covered bridge in Franklin County, Pennsylvania, described in its record as historic district in Pennsylvania, United States. Pennsylvania has 231 covered bridges on record at Wayfarrow, 2 of them in Franklin County.
Status check, 2026-11: This is an NRHP historic district, not a single covered bridge. The 'Hays Bridge' itself is a stone double-arch bridge (about 1820, rebuilt 1928). The district also includes the 87-ft Witherspoon (Ped) covered bridge from 1883, Franklin County's only remaining covered bridge. 'Standing' is based on the stone bridge being reported open to traffic; I found no recent status for the covered bridge. Hays Bridge Historic District is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It stands at 39.7886° N, 77.8542° W.
