Hog Island Shoal Light is a lighthouse in Newport County, Rhode Island. Rhode Island has 31 lighthouses on record at Wayfarrow, 15 of them in Newport County.

It was built in 1901, in the early 20th century, making it the 21st oldest of the 22 in Rhode Island with a recorded construction date; the tower stands about 60 feet tall (3rd tallest of 15 measured in Rhode Island); its light sits 54 feet above the water; the light characteristic is recorded as Iso W 6s (a white light, equally on and off, repeating every 6 seconds), with a range of about 12 nautical miles; it guards Narragansett Bay.

Status check, 2026-11: The station started in 1886 as a lightship. The current cast-iron sparkplug tower replaced it in 1901 and was sold to a private owner in 2006, so the record's 1886 is wrong. Hog Island Shoal Light is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It is not reachable by road: the nearest road is about 1 mile away, so it is seen from shore or reached by water. It stands at 41.6323° N, 71.2732° W.
