Status check, 2026-11: This is the original 1858 lighthouse, not a museum built later. The light was moved to the east pierhead in 1904, and the lantern room was then removed. Today the building is the Old Lighthouse Museum, and the lantern on its roof is a 1973 replica. No source gave its height. Old Michigan City Light is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It stands at 41.7228° N, 86.9058° W.
